SKYPE is one of the lowest cost providers to connect to the teleconference line from anywhere in the world. SKYPE offers very low subscription plans.
You can use SKYPE to dial the conference line number and then type in teh conference access code.
AFTER THE CALL CONNECTS, YOU MUST USE THE SKYPE DIAL PAD FUNCTION TO KEY IN THE ACCESS CODE YOU RECEIVED WHEN YOU REGISTERED.
NOTE: the SKYPE DIAL PAD in some versions has been hidden. To see it you must first activate the call, then use the menu bar. You can open the dial pad by clicking on the CALL menu on the top menu bar and select ‘Show Dial Pad’ (note: the call must be in progress or the selection for “Show Dial Pad” is not active).
RECOMMENDATION: If you do not have a headset for your computer, you may get an echo on the line, even if you don’t hear it , the person on the other end will. The echo is caused by having your computer microphone also picking up the sound coming from your speakers. We highly recommend that you use a good quality headset. Use the Skype Echo Sound Test in your list of contacts to test your headset.
If you are not using a headset please mute and unmute yourself manually on your computer using the SKYPE controls. Mute yourself whenever you are not speaking and unmute yourself when you need to speak. We invite you to say hello at the start of the class and participate in the opening group “OM”, as well as saying goodbye and the closing “OM”.
